DK Acting Class - Las Vegas
DKAC is a scene study acting class that teaches the renowned technique of Beverly Hills Playhouse founder, Milton Katselas, taught by accomplished actor, writer, director and ten year resident technical director for the Beverly Hills Playhouse, Dean Kreyling. Dean was also a long time student and assistant to Milton Katselas.
Whether you want to be a working actor on stage/film/tv/commercials or just enhance your current performance art skill set with acting technique, our program focuses on training the artist in Milton's 3 key elements to achieve success in the entertainment industry.
Acting: Technique; A wide ranging skill set with the tools of acting.
Attitude: Attitude monitors talents. A good, confident attitude will support the smallest talent or technique. This is backed up Elia Kazan, Milton's mentor, who said that 80% of this business is the ability to get along with people.
Administration: For the actor, proactive career administration is a must. The actor is running a business: The marketing of themselves and their talent in order to get work. Administration provides for the actor the basis of a balanced attitude that can lead to success.
DKAC curriculum and cost is designed to maximize the conservatory scene study training experience for our members with attention to minimizing the cost of comprehensive training. Training is on going. Classes are month to month. Membership is $200.00 a month.
Membership Includes: Four 2.5 hour scene study classes a month with teacher Dean Kreyling where in students perform prepared, rehearsed scenes, monologues, songs or an exercise for their student audience and receive technique notes from Dean. The exercises we offer are to best learn acting, attitude and administration: Body work. Voice work. Movement work. Improvisation. Character development. Script analysis. On Camera technique. Self tape and live audition technique and The do's and don'ts of Talent agent interviews and auditions with a Casting Director. Scenes and monologues are rehearsed by the students during the week between classes - use of the theatre for rehearsal or self taping is available to members only, at no extra charge.
We encourage our students to always be creating - making use of the space rehearsing during the week and performing in class scenes from their own original work as well as that of known material. The theatre is available to members M-F 24 hours a day and Sat 1pm-12am. Class is on Sundays. Level I(new to acting): 3:30pm-6pm. Level II(advanced class): 12:30pm-3:15pm.
